Common questions
What is the difference between Cat A and Cat B COE?
Category A covers cars up to 1,600cc with engine power ≤97kW. Category B covers all other cars including hybrids and EVs above that threshold. Cat B premiums are typically higher.
How does PARF rebate work?
PARF (Preferential Additional Registration Fee) is refunded when you deregister a car before 10 years old. The rebate decreases the older the car gets. A 5-year-old car returns 75% of its ARF paid.
What LTV limit applies to my car loan?
As of 2025, MAS regulations limit loans to 70% LTV for cars with OMV ≤ S$20,000 and 60% LTV for cars above that. Loan tenure is capped at 7 years.
How long does the ownership transfer take?
LTA typically processes transfers within 2–3 working days once both buyer and seller have completed their parts on the One Motoring portal. Insurance must be transferred on day one.
