Living with an Audi A4: a long-term owner's view
Three years and 62,000 km after purchasing a 2022 Audi A4 S line 2.0 TFSI, here is an honest owner's account — costs, reliability, and whether the premium badge holds up in daily Singapore life.
Running costs
Servicing at an authorised Audi centre averages S$750–950 every 10,000 km. Tyres (Continental ContiSportContact 5, 245/40 R18) last approximately 30,000 km — S$1,200–1,400 for a full set. Total maintenance over three years: approximately S$7,200.
Reliability
One warranty visit: a faulty DSG solenoid at 28,000 km, replaced at no cost. Otherwise, no issues. The 2.0 TFSI engine in this generation has shed most of the oil-burning reputation of earlier variants.
Living with it daily
Road noise on the CTE is genuinely low — better than the BMW 3 Series we tested back-to-back. The Virtual Cockpit instrument cluster remains the best digital instrument implementation in its class.
Would I buy it again?
Yes, with the caveat that I would specify the optional tech pack from new. Resale at 3 years: approximately S$75,000 against an S$178,000 original price — S$34,333/year depreciation, broadly as expected.
