EV rebates in 2026: what you actually save

Singapore has layered multiple EV incentives since 2021, and keeping track of what applies to which car is genuinely complicated. Here is a plain-English breakdown of what is available in 2026.
Early Adopter Initiative (EEAI)
The Enhanced EV Early Adopter Initiative provides a 45% rebate on the Additional Registration Fee (ARF) for battery EVs registered before 31 December 2026. The rebate is capped at S$20,000. This applies to both new and used EVs first-time registered in Singapore.
VES and colour banding
The Vehicular Emissions Scheme rates pure EVs A1, qualifying for a S$15,000 to S$25,000 rebate on the ARF. This stacks with the EEAI rebate — but the combined rebate is capped at the full ARF value.
What you actually save
On a mid-range EV with OMV of S$40,000 (ARF approximately S$30,000): EEAI 45% = S$13,500 + VES A1 = S$15,000. Combined saving on registration: up to S$28,500 — meaningful on a car that might otherwise cost S$180,000–200,000 all-in.
